a lady stands beside a bed
looking at the man lying in it,still as a stone
she only knew he was alive from the constant beeping of the heart monitor
in ICU ward 201
a doctor walks up to the lady
tells her for the hundredth time
he won’t ever wake up again, head injury from the accident is too severe, just pull the plug now, the usual stuff
in ICU ward 201
the lady stands beside the bed
considering her options again
still holding on to that tiny sliver of hope that he might wake up, that they might resume their life together
in ICU ward 201
the lady stands beside the bed
looking at the man lying in it,still as a stone
maybe he really has no hope left,she thinks
it might be better letting him go

usually she tells the doctor to give her a while more
