Dear 1G 2021,
Remember how from January to March we started celebrating people’s birthdays after school, how we had so much fun drawing on the board, shipping people (not so fun nahhh) and just being bonded as a class. Well it used to we a wonderful and cool class. This happiness and care for each other was not so long lasted, 8 April 2021, was one of the coldest days in 2021 for 1G had been in the midst of a cold online civil war. Many were in confusion as WhatsApp statuses filled with hatred and you cannot actually blame anyone. Silence was a secret weapon and statuses a nuclear bomb.
Well, luckily things calmed down and life resumed like normal. Our math teacher was temporarily changed and these minor changes had an impact on our studies and academics. ECCA and other activities like Math Infinity or for others, third language and GSP were starting to increase in the number of times they were meeting.
As the COVID-19 situation started to improve, we had seen light at the end of the tunnel and it seemed like we were going to go back to normal life very soon, more stuff happened.
Not just that bad news, in fact the new COVID-19 variant called the Omicron was out on a rampage as it was reported that this variant of the virus was more contagious than the previous few variants and soon we saw number of cases rise to about 1000+ but most people have already gotten their vaccination. 1G has been one of the best classes I have been in, way better than my P6 class and despite all the challenges and obstacles we have faced, we pulled through, with resilience, hope and most importantly, kindness! It has indeed been a joy to have a class like 1G.
Now that we are 2G, let us add more chapters to our story and make the best out of the last year we will be together, peace!
