Yuan China fell to the Ming and as Paramswara flees from Temasek towards the Malacca Straits when men from the Ayutthaya kingdom massacred the armies of Paramswara. The king is clearly enraged by the brutal assassination of Sang Aji, his past vassal and the second last king of Singapura. Paramswara flees to Melaka, founded it and declared its allegiance to the Ming court to obtain protection from Ming China.

The Ming seized the opportunity to start trading with Melaka after it re-implemented the foreign trade ban and Melaka prospered, which caused Singapore’s decline as a port.
