The Easiest Way to Get Arrested In Thailand #shorts

Thailand has always been run by a king, and he is very respected. Therefore, no one is able to criticise him, because doing so would get them arrested.

One message or post on social media containing any insult towards the current King of Thailand, Maha Vajiralongkorn, will cost you 5 years in jail. There was one instance where someone was sentenced to 15 years of jail for sending 3 text messages insulting the King. Even insulting past kings will get you the same sentence.

And don't think that just because you're not a citizen of Thailand, you can be exempted from this law. There have been cases of foreigners who insulted the King getting arrested the moment they set foot in Thailand. Luckily, most were eventually bailed.

I am not sure whether talking about this punishment is considered a crime against the King, but to be safe, I request you not to let this post leave this website (though I doubt you ever will make the effort to do so). I may still want to travel to Thailand in the future, and frankly, getting arrested is not a good way to start a holiday.
